Meet Melissa,

Owner of Embracing Me Counseling, PLLC

MS, LCMHC, CCTP

Well let’s see, I’m Melissa!  I’m a southern belle with a lot of sparkle! I don’t want to bore you with all my educational accolades and achievements, so I’ll get to the good stuff! I am a Libra, if you are into astrology. I have one son, who is also one of my favorite humans. I am married and I think we like each other! I have two sisters, one brother-in-love and one sister-in-love, which yields 13 nieces and nephews. (I like them…most of the time, LOL).

I love traveling. This is my favorite pastime! So I’m on a quest to see the WORLD and all it has to offer. I love crafting, but I’m not a crafter!  I love home décor and shopping for deals, since I am a bargain shopper at heart. Music and I are crazy in love and will never part each other. So let’s specifically say I am a R&B enthusiast. I enjoy a good game night and spending intentional time with those I love and care for.  I like to have a good time and look at life in an optimistic but realist view.

As a therapist, I’m transparent in my approach. I will always meet a client where they are, and will push and challenge to achieve goals and become the best version of self.  I am dedicated to assisting individuals reach their goals with dignity and respect. I serve as a culturally responsive therapist as well as a  LGBTQIA+ advocate/ally.

I help clients achieve their versions of their "best selves." My clients come to me for help to manage depression, relationship issues, anxiety, or trauma. Let's find out if we're an ideal fit for your journey to empowerment and well-being!

With 23 years of experience in the Mental Health field across diverse roles, I bring expertise in helping people reach their mental health goals. My specialization lies in addressing sexual difficulties, anxiety, depression, a spectrum of mood and personality disorders, as well as challenges related to sexuality and relationship problems.
